News & Updates

Registration for the 70th annual Institute on Lake Superior Geology will open February 26 at 8:00 am EST. To register follow this link (available on Feb 26).

Field trips have a maximum number of registrants, registration is first come first served. When the maximum is reached you will not be able to register, but you can add yourself to the wait list on the registration website.

Be sure to take advantage of early bird registration until April 9, 2024 for discounted registration fees.  Early bird registration is appreciated as it helps the meeting chairs with planning details for the meeting. Online registration for pre-conference field trips will close at 8:00 am on May 13. Online registration for the conference and post-conference field trips will close at 8:00 am on May 15. Once you have completed your registration purchase you will receive a confirmation email with receipt.  In-person registration will be available on site at the welcome social on Wednesday evening, May 15, as well as the first day of technical sessions on Thursday May 16. Please contact Julie Stark, jlstark@mtu.edu, with any registration questions.

Registration, technical sessions, the banquet, and the Wednesday evening social will be located on the 2nd floor of the Memorial Union Building (MUB). Field trips will depart from, and return to, the southwest corner of the MUB. Parking lots are available next to the building; campus parking passes will be provided to registered participants as needed when they check in for the meeting or for the morning of the pre-meeting field trips. We will also provide detailed maps of all locations associated with the meeting.
